Welcome to the Nursery Page!

We only have 4 days left of our first half term in school, the time is flying and the children are all settling in really well.  We had a lovely week last week learning about Autumn and we all went on a lovely walk to look at the trees and to find leaves which the children have in their Magic Moments books, please feel free to write any interesting things your child may have done at  home in this book , we always love to hear what the children do at home, be it days out, visits to family or just something good that you child may have done. The children who have took Thumper the rabbit home already have really enjoyed having him, please let Mrs Ozcan know if your child would like to have Thumper stay one weekend.  This week our topic will be ‘The Three Billy Goat’s Gruff’ and we will be reading the story, acting out with puppets and making exciting things related to the topic, we hope the children will enjoy it.  See you Monday.

Well the children are all settling into nursery now and seem to be enjoying their time with us.  We now have Thumper staying with us and we have started a rota for children who want to take him home, if you have already put your child’s name down then you will be on the rota and the Monday before you are due to take him home there will be a note in your child’s book bag confirming the date.

This week in nursery we will be learning about Autumn, Mrs Ozcan’s children have been out collecting leaves for the children to do different things with, we will be painting leaves, hanging them in the nursery garden and other activities are planned too.  When out with your child it would be great if you talked about the season and show them trees that may be loosing their leaves, pointing out different colour leaves etc.

We change our reading books every Wednesday so please make sure your child has their book bag every day.  You may have noticed our ‘News Tree’ which is up by the main door of nursery, here we would like you to write on a leaf and tell us any exciting news regarding your child and their family, this could be a birthday, birth, wedding or even a day out, we can then discuss these events at carpet time.

We would like to welcome all our new children to nursery, everyone has started now and we had a busy week last week settling everyone in, we hope you all enjoyed your first days and that you are looking forward to coming to nursery everyday.  The children who are staying for lunch have behaved brilliantly and are a good example to the rest of the school when it comes to sitting and eating quietly in the lunch room.  So well done to them.

We are now the proud owner of THUMPER the rabbit, he lives in nursery now but at weekends we need parents to volunteer to take him home with them, if you are interested please let a member of staff know and we will add you to our rota.
